01Bolzano · Merano · Avelengo
South Tyrol
A place where Alpine peaks look down into palm trees. City gardens, mountain hotels, wine, bicycles and espresso in one unexpectedly southern rhythm.
01
The travel journal of David and Robík
A selection of journeys, hotels and flavours worth leaving the main road for.

Our compass
The scent of morning coffee, light in a hotel corridor, the hush before breakfast and a road that may have been more beautiful than the destination. Dobrý směr is our personal selection — no racing, no compulsory sights simply because the internet says so.
Places are more than addresses
We do not force places into a fixed number of drawers. Our atlas grows by region — from mountains and vineyards to lakes and coasts — because accommodation without its landscape tells only half the story.
01Bolzano · Merano · Avelengo
A place where Alpine peaks look down into palm trees. City gardens, mountain hotels, wine, bicycles and espresso in one unexpectedly southern rhythm.
02Follonico · Montepulciano · Argentario
Hills, long tables and roads on which there is no reason to hurry. Our Tuscany begins with Fabio’s bread and does not end until it reaches the sea.
03Čeladná · Pustevny · mountain meadows
A Czech haven for architecture, food, golf and cycling. Stone, timber, mountains and dinners worth returning from a walk on time for.
04Blansingen · Basel · Alsace
German vineyards, French pâtisseries and Swiss art in a single stay. A landscape best explored by bicycle — then tasted from a glass beside the pool.
05Arco · Riva · Sirmione
One lake and several completely different landscapes. Rock and bicycles in the north, promenades and thermal baths in the south, with olive trees, wine and long waterside journeys between them.
06Montone · Perugia · Gubbio
Green hills, stone towns and stillness that needs no itinerary. Our Umbria begins in a medieval tower above the Carpini Valley and continues with long tables, olive oil and roads without crowds.
07Zikmundov · Buchlov · the Blue Mountains
The Chřiby woods, pastures around Zikmundov and Moravian vineyards a few bends further on. A landscape for slow mornings, bicycles, an open kitchen and wine at sunset.
08Salento · Ostuni · Valle d’Itria
Two seas, white houses, old olive trees and evenings that begin after sunset. From a palazzo in Gagliano to masserie between Ostuni and Fasano.
09Langhe · Barolo · La Morra
Nebbiolo, UNESCO-listed hills and food that needs no performance. Piedmont is a journey between vines, ridge-top villages and long tables.
New story · Umbria
OurTorre di Moravola
Seonaid and Christopher rescued an abandoned watchtower without water or services, kept its stone and added a contemporary calm. Today its pool looks across the Carpini Valley, with Montone waiting only a few hills away.
